Your Subpoena Email Scam
Re: XXXXX.net lawsuit subpoena
Did you get an email purporting to be from a law firm? Or an email stating “ lawsuit subpoena”? If so, DON’T open it. The attachment is in a word format which contains an unknown yet executable file which may lead or cause you a bunch of computer headaches to say the least. At this time it appears to be nothing more than a nuisance!
This email has been targeting law firms, private investigators, security professionals, process servers and others in the legal profession that deal with subpoenas on consistent basis. The email is sent to victims and the above firms that have current or pending litigation. Please take a look at the most recent sample displayed below and be aware.
